A support group for fading cryptids like Bigfoot and Nessie becomes an unlikely family searching for love, purpose, and a way to still matter.
Once, the world believed in them.
Now Bigfoot, Nessie, and a fading roster of forgotten legends gather in a basement support group, struggling to matter in a world that has stopped looking. When a surprising, newly minted cryptid joins their ranks — and still believes in them — the group finds a reason to hope, sets out to be seen again, and discovers that the family they have found in one another may be the very thing worth fighting for. By turns hilarious and heartfelt, Legends Anonymous is a fable for anyone who has ever felt invisible.

About
Steve Kovach is a Pittsburgh-area playwright, composer, and lyricist and a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and ASCAP. His full-length musical Legends Anonymous — Shrek meets Into the Woods — leads a body of work that also includes three one-act musicals (two produced for paying audiences) and more than 160 original songs and parodies, with selected recordings on Spotify.
A founding member of Freeport Area Performing Arts, Steve has worked on 60+ productions in nearly every role onstage and off, and has served as the company's Stage Manager for 36 consecutive productions since 2010. He also teaches songwriting, stagecraft, and stage management, and is the author of two published books — the novel Ripples and the memoir Journey of Rebecca Rose.
He writes, again and again, about the overlooked person doing essential work — the soul standing just outside the spotlight who deserves to be seen.
